the famous appointment with the Bardolino Wine Festival is coming this week end!
It deals with the 88th edition of the popular festival dedicated to the Bardolino Wine that every year achieves resounding success among its visitors.
The event takes place in Bardolino, 10 kms away from Torri del Benaco, from Thursday 28th September to Monday 002th October. Along the lake promenade and in the historical centre, the town will be animated by gastronomic stands that will propose wine of local wineries. Special parades and events are planned every day.
Entertainment for children also does not lack: on Sunday morning children can have fun by pressing grapes as per tradition, showing how wine used to be made in the past. On Sunday afternoon foot race for kids in the main square!
Every night live music. And on Sunday evening at 11.30 pm do not miss the musical firework show on the water.

This week end the Beer Festival “Birra in Castello” awaits you in Torri del Benaco.

The stands in the historical centre propose a selection of  the best italian home-brewed beer.

To have access to the tasting, you are invited to buy a glass (for the price of € 10,-) that will entitle you to a max of 6 beer tasting of your choice during the week end.

The stands are open from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd September from 18.00 to 24.00.

what’ s up tonight in Torri del Benaco? Do not miss the famous regatta “Palio delle Bisse”
The “Bisse” were ancient boats that were used for fishing on the lake through the ages. They have a characteristic shape (a narrow keel and pointed ends). Four men are needed to row the boat, gondolier-style through the water.

The famous championship “Bandiera del lago” involves all the villages of the Lake.

And tonight, 12th August, the competition takes place in Torri del Benaco.

 

To close the event, at 11.00 pm, the spectacular firework show on the Lake.

From 6 pm to 2.30 am, the historical centre, dressed up in pink, will be animated by live music and entertainment.

Shops, coloured with pink decorations,  will have an extended opening time, while restaurants and bar will offer special menues or cocktail on theme.

Every year the event achieves resounding success among ihnabitants and tourists.

on  26th May Torri del Benaco celebrates the Festival of the Patron Saint Filippo.

It deals with the most traditional festival of the town, whose symbol is the traditional boat bonfire that this year will take place on Friday at 10.30 pm.

But this year there is something new: the festival will be associated to the event Vino in Castello (Wine in the Castle) with a special program for the whole week end from 26th to 28th May.

From the port to the main squares and streets of the historical centre you will find stands of local wineries and the participants could taste local specialties and the wines from various areas of production: Soave, Valpolicella, Custoza, Bardolino, Durello, Lugana, Arcole.

To have access to the wine tasting, you are invited to buy a glass (for the price of € 10,-) that will entitle you to a max of 6 wine tasting of your choice.

The event will be animated by live music, shows and children entertainment.

This time the color BLACK is the protagonist, with the first edition of the Black Night.

Special guest is Holu, the mobile robot, the highest of the world, with a stature of more than 8 meters!

what happens this week end in Torri del Benaco?

Here is the interesting programm for the next days.

On Saturday 11th June, do not miss the famous competition “Palio delle Bisse” in Torri del Benaco. It deals of the first race of the championship “Bandiera del Lago 2016″. Every week the boats challenge in different places on the lake.
The “Bisse” were ancient boats that were used for fishing on the lake through the ages. They have a characteristic shape (a narrow keel and pointed ends). Four men are needed to row the boat, gondolier-style through the water.

Programm of the event:

At 7.30 p.m.  parade with paddlers and boats in the town centre.

At 8.15 p.m. boats parade in the lake along the coast

At 8.45 p.m. competition starting

To close the event, at 11.00 pm, the spectacular firework show on the Lake.

In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to another date.

And after the traditional event Palio delle Bisse, here is a good news for shopping lovers: on Sunday 12th June the “Mercato del Forte” comes back to Torri. As usual the booths, coming from Tuscany, offer made in Italy items, especially leather bags, cashmere and home furnishing. Good value for money!

Two very interesting appointments awaits you this weekend.

The event takes place in Bardolino, from the 01st to 05th October. Along the lake promenade and in the historical centre, the town will be animated by gastronomic stands that will propose wine of local wineries. Special parades and events are planned every day.

Besides the Wine Festival, I recommend you a visit to the Honey Days in Lazise. This interesting event, that is happening from 02nd to 4th October,  includes an Italian honey exhibition where many factories illustrate the tools and items involved in the honey productions and the products deriving from it. It deals of the most the most significative exhibition market of the Italian honeys known on a European level.
